In recent years, seamless knitting industry in the world develops rapidly, with the market changes, the enterprises in the design of knitted fabric field hope to find a faster way to design products to meet market demand. Traditionally, the new production design requires several proofing and proofing effect correction, then can be formally put into production, this way wasted a lot of manpower, material resources and have a long design cycling, can not meet the needs of the market in a timely manner. In order to design faster and to go into production as soon as possible, designers can intuitively observe the effect in designing,therefore the developmen a virtual design system has great practical value and practical significance. This paper bases on the virtual reality technology, accords to "Seamless knitted product intelligent design and virtual processing" as the background, focuses on simulation and construction of knitted fabric hairiness, uses of digital image processing technology to obtain an image with square connectivity, and applies the research results to the knitted fabric virtual design system.The main work includes:(1) Study on the basic construction method of yarn hairiness. By analyzing the structure characteristics of seamless knitted hairiness and the results of previous researches, this paper raises polar equation and random method of normal distribution function basis of the existing three-dimensional coil model to calculate hairiness model control points, constructs the curve simulation to control construction of hairiness, controls the numbers of single yarn root and builds strands curvature, so that the simulation of coil on the microstructure looks more realistic.(2) This paper uses correlation processing such as denoising, selected feature pixel, image binarization and so on, calculates the image minimum cycle of transverse and longitudinal directions, obtains texton, and extends the texton on the transverse and longitudinal directions, the expanded image meets the quartet connectivity and forms a seamless knitted fabric texture.(3) Study the interaction of the operational processes which mainly for the convenience of the users, allow users adjust hairiness length and intensity in real-time and reflect in the three-dimensional hairiness model.(4) Research results have been integrated into the fabric virtual design system which includes entity model import, texture mapping, rotating interactive and other functions. In the texture generation, the system provides powerful interactive capabilities so that designers can modify the effect conveniently and get real-time effect efficiency, this system achieves a high practical value.
