With the popularization of computer digital image processing technology, it has reached to the textile field. It changes traditional manual operation in the textile industry, highly increasing work efficiency and solving many difficulties. This also predicts that it is a trend that applying Digital Image Processing Technique to resolve actual problems.This dissertation has applied Digital Image Processing Techniques to achieved weft knitted fabric's parameters. The original fabric images were obtained by using CCD video. According to the characteristic of knitted fabric image, prepare processes were put on the original fabric image, which convenient for the follow step. Then, decompose the processed images with Wavelet decomposition; get the decomposed images include longitude and latitude fabric information. According to the brightness rule of textile texture, adopting the method of data average to get rid of the impact caused by fabric deformation and image deviation, and then get the fabric parameters; as for the diameter of the yarn, we dichotomize the images of the yarn. With the stitch's geometry model, achieve the automatic measurement of the stitch length based on the density and fabric parameters.Under the Chinese Windows environment, using MATLAB as platen to carry on the image processing, and combining with VC++6.0 as develop tool, investigated Automatic Measurement System for Knitted Fabric. The paper mainly studies the density of the simple pattern and the stitch length of jersey pattern.
