Research Of GPRS Cell Reselection Based On The System Architecure Of GSM Femto

With the growth of mobile internet, such as the internet demand of the smart phone such as Iphone and Adriod, wireless coverage and access is ushering new challenge. However, the contribution of the development of technology on the growth of flow cannot keep up with users’growing demand of flow. Therefore, there is a large gap between the income of the data service’s development and the growth of the data flow.According to statistics,70percentage data service happens indoor. In a result, for operators, it’s very important to provide users with good access indoor. However, the survey found that45percentage homes and30percentage companies are facing the problem of access indoor.The appearance of Femto provides solutions of the access indoor in the different scenes a good chance. At the same time, the development of GPRS reselection improves the rate of the data service further, satisfies users’ demand of the data service better, and improves the performance of the whole network further.Firstly, this thesis elaborates the background, the importance, and the development of the research of the reselection of GPRS. Secondly, it summarizes the system architecture of GSM、the system architecture of GSM Femto and the reselection of GPRS. Thirdly, it introduces the signaling procedure of the reselection of GPRS in the pattern of NC2, the signaling procedure of NACC, and the signaling procedure of PACKET (P)SI STATUS respectively. Fourthly, it presents the algorithm of the reselection of GPRS. This algorithm not only introduces the measurement of radio link, the reselection of GPRS in the modem of NC2, but also presents the recommended value of parameters during reselecting of GPRS in the modem of NC2. Fifthly, according to this algorithm, it verifies the function and the performance of this algorithm. Sixthly, on the basis of the algorithm, it gives the specific design. Lastly, it summarizes this thesis and puts forward the problems about this thesis, which are going to be researched in the future.
