With the rapid development of Internet and IP network, more andmore business were transmitted through IP network. However, IP networkcan only provide service of “best effort” and has no guarantee of thetransmission quality. Some business, such as VoIP, video conference andVideo Monitoring, can’t carry out once network congestion. The networkcongestion problem must be solved for carry out real-time business.It high increases the cost of operation and maintenance for operatorto solve the problem of network congestion by increasing the bandwith.Therefore the most effective solution is the application of a "protection" ofthe strategy to manage network congestion.QOS is a kind of protect strategy for real-time service flow in appliedto IP networks.It is studied for operator how to implement QOS in current IP metronetwork in this paper.This dissertation is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the necessity on the T operator deploy QOS in their network are described byanalyzing the development of data network, the business of T operatorand customer requirement. In the second chapter, the QOS is described. Inthe third chapter, the metro network equipment of operator and technologyof QOS are studied. In the forth chapter, the case of QOS in Mianyangmetro network is introduced. In the fifth chapter, the effect on T operatordeploying QOS in their network is summarized.In this paper, the scheme on how to deploy QOS in large IP metronetwork is studied. the network testing, the equipment transformation forQOS and the implementation scheme for QOS have the guidance value forMAN transformation and optimization.The instructive and operational documentations on deploy QOS in IPmetro network are proposed by deployment scheme design, projectimplementation and the main technology applications.
