In recent years, with the wide application of various positioning system, and its industrial, civil and military field application, the voice detection and location of the system have become new hotspot. The acoustic source localization with microphone array refers to several microphones which will be arrayed with a certain geometrical structure. The signal imformation received from the several microphones will be disposed by array signal processing method. Then. the position of the acoustic source will be confirmed according to the data received from the several microphones. The work presented in this thesis is time delay estimation of acoustic source localization. The time delay estimation algorithm and the acoustic sensor array technology are two key problems in the acoustic source localization system. The first key problem time delay estimation algorithm was researched, especially the theory of generalized cross-correlation algorithm and the LMS algorithms. The traditional algorithm of generalized cross-correlation have been improved, and a new generalized cross-correlation algorithm have been proposed. The result of computer simulation shows that the method proposed outperforms the traditional method on the sides of resistance to noise and reverb. The LMS algorithms also was been discussed. And a new LMS algorithms have been proposed, of which can improve the localization precision. The second key problem is how to chioce the structure of microphone arrays. The matheinatic model of hexahydric cross acoustic sensor array have been built to analyze the time delay estimation, azimuth angle, elevation angle and distance error of the acoustic localization. The relative factors affecting the orientation precision of the system are stressed and ways of improving the precision have been put forward.
