HINOC (High Performance Network Over Coax) Protocol is a new type ofbroadband access technology, which is independent innovation development by ourcountry. It uses CATV (Cable Television) coaxial cable to set up the high-speed andhigh-quality multi-service broadband access network. As the issuance of the HINOCprotocol standard, related product development will be developed by many researchinstitutions and companies. In order to ensure that different equipments from differentmanufacturers not only can interconnected successfully, but also can provide normalservices, it’s very important to have protocol conformance testing and interoperabilitytesting. The generation of the protocol conformance testing sets of HINOC networkand the development of the testing system will provide powerful supports for HINOCcommunication products and operation maintenance of the network.In this paper, based on the study of the relevant documents and specifications ofHINOC, have a deep research on the theory, the framework and methods ofconformance testing which is very popular in the current international. According tothe remote Testing method which is recommended by ISO9646-2,and combined withthe characteristics of communication protocol of HINOC access network, designed thesolution of MAC conformance testing system of HINOC protocol,which is based onTTCN-3and give the software realization of the decoding part.This paper firstintroduced simplely the Test Description Language TTCN-3, the testing theory and thespecifications of communication protocol of HINOC version1.0access network thendesigned the whole solutions of HINOC testing system in detail, including the abstracttests sequences generation technology of EFSM describe of HINOC protocol, thegeneration of abstract tests cases and specification editor, the design of TRI of SystemAdapter, the design of TRI of PA (Platform Adapter), the design of TCI of decode;finally, set up the testing system of HINOC by using TTworkbench software andembedded development board IXP425to verify the whole design solution. Theresearch and results show that the testing solutions can solve MAC signaling testing ofHINOC protocol and generate variety of testing report eventually.
