The Construction Of Gannan Tibetan National Customs Multimedia Database Management System

Gannan Tibetan area is located in the convergence zone of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Loess Plateau. Due to its particular geographical environment and unique Tibetan agglomeration, it has developed Gannan Tibetan culture which is different from those of Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan. It is monopolistic, mysterious and attractive for Tibetan Buddhist cultural resources, literature, dance, drama, artworks resources and natural resources. Domestic and foreign experts and scholars have paid much attention to abundant cultural resources of Gannan Tibetan area. Ji Xianlin, the international famous Orientalist, once predicted that20th Century would be for the study of Dunhuang and21st Century, the study of Tibetan. In the process of economic globalization, as an important branch of Chinese national folk cultures, Gannan Tibetan culture should become one of the brands for the regional cultural industry by protecting and using it. Therefore, the construction of a modern national customs multimedia database management system in Gannan Tibetan area can help integrate folk resouces, improve the government’s management and promote the local economy.According to the current status and developing trend of multimedia database management system and the characteristics of Gannan national custom resources, this paper analyzes the characteristics of national customs and proposes a framework and then constructs a national customs multimedia database management system in Gannan Tibetan area.This paper proposes a Structs-Based solution for the construction of a national customs multimedia database management system in Gannan Tibetan area. First, with basic theories on database management and with the characteristics of local national customs resources in Gannan Tibetan area, it analyzes the characterisctics of national customs in this area and discusses the technology and environment to create the system. Second, it makes a nedds analysis for the system and designs the modules and the function and business process of every module based on the needs analysis and gives a detailed description about the implementation of some major parts.
