EDP Widget:Design And Implementation Of A WEB Interface Component System

With the rapid development of information technology, information technology has been widely applied in the field of education. Some national policies and measures have been made to promote educational informationization. Nowadays, over200colleges and universities already invest in the field of digital campus. With the implement of the education information standard programme of "12th five-year" plan and the "Golden Education" project, national digital campus instruction will grow quickly. The levels of informationization is different, however, every leader of information department and the whole college have the goal to build a unified portal for the whole school.This paper will start from the availability engineering. A suit of EDP Widget will be designed by "customer-centered design" to improve the availability and security of the web system, and tested in the application of "Digital Beijing Foreign University".EDP Widget is free to do the drag and drop in user interface, and functions of the personalized Portal are finished. In the design process, it uses singleton and factory design pattern to improve the availability of software. EDP Widget uses java’s multi-threaded asynchronous communication mode and XML PROC technique, with the js script language, to achieve the different roles of the page customization and to improve the speed of the interface appearance, so the entire page load time will not be affected by the load time of some channels.There are some additional components of EDP Widget, such as the check code and picture components to combine organically with the application system and to improve the availability of application and user experience. In terms of safety, EDP Widget uses the check mode in client, and effectively avoids cross-site scripting attacks and SQL injection, combined with the application server uses SSL protocol to ensure application security. EDP Widget was tested in the "Digital Beijing Foreign" digital campus application, and also carried out the performance test, the effect is good. Finally, EDP Widget was compared with similar products, questionnaires and interviews were conducted for availability assessment of the portal platform developed by EDP Widget.Compared with the traditional Portal, EDP Widget has greatly improved in the aspect of response speed, security and ease of use. It improved application availability, user experience and customer satisfaction. With the development of campus information construction, EDP Widget will be widely used and recognized by customer.Finally, this paper summarized the next work of EDP Widget, and put forwarded the EDP Widget and software availability.
