Currently, the research and application of Internet of Things become more widespread. Internet of things application, which is introduced to meet the general requirements of the business and services, will consider the content introduction, platform establishment and terminals. Therefore, every service will not only launch a long development period, but also cost a lot of manpower and money. Now, Widget becomes one of the most potential techniques in the display and distributed of the internet recourse, for the advantages of simple interface, consuming less resource, easy development and so on. According to these problems, this thesis proposes Widget technology as the IoT application design method. But IoT application base on widget has not special research and implementation. The paper discusses on the application and development in IoT with Widget, has important value and realistic significance for IoT development. This thesis analyzes the status of the IoT application, studies the Widget technology features in architecture diagram and principles of realization, and also points out the feasibility and the importance of introduction of the Widget technology to the IoT application. Simultaneously, this thesis has designed RESTful IoT application method based on Widget, given the method and the core module program in detail. Meanwhile, the thesis has verified the design method through the Widget application, realized and tested the Widget application on the OPhone mobile terminal. The result indicates that each IoT node can monitor, perceive and gather variety information of the distributed objects in various environments. Widget can not only process these data, but also timely transmit data to the user.
