With the development of space technology, large space deployable antenna has become an important research field of space science and technology. Deployable structure is the backbone of the space deployable antenna, and it is the rigid support structure of the antenna. The main work of this paper is to research the backbone of the Hoop-rib deployable antenna. Analysis and design of the Hoop-rib deployable structure joint are carried on, and kinematics simulation analysis of the model is conducted. It verifies that the design scheme is reasonable and accurate.Firstly, a variety of domestic and foreign deployable structures are summarized and classified. On the basis of summing up, the Hoop-rib deployable structures of new space-borne deployable antenna are designed, and then the structures are improved based on the function analysis. The deployable structure joints are analyzed. At the same time joint principle scheme is analyzed by the reasonable selection of joint drive and speed control mode. Two new schemes of deployable joints are proposed, and models of the two structures are established. Through the rib unit simulation analysis, the overall structure is improved.Based on the deployable structure characteristics of joints, the locking mechanism of the joints is studied to improve. This paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of various joint locking scheme. A spring locking-hole scheme is designed, and improved structure model of this scheme is established. Kinematics simulation verifies the rationality and feasibility of the improved model.The center cylinder is connection center of the Hoop-rib deployable structure and assembly interface of antenna equipments. Through the analysis of the center cylinder, two central cylinder models are designed and carried out on static analysis. These offer a variety of options for the Hoop-rib deployable structure research.Finally, the above researches are summarized; the existing problems and the next task are put forward.
