During the last20years, mobile communication technologies have been developedfrom2G,2.5G and3G into LTE. In order to satisfy the users’ demands of rich mobiledata services, particularly in the scenarios of indoor and users moving with low speed,3GPP proposed the goal of higher data rate and spectrum efficiency in LTE-Advanced.As the important technologies of radio resource management, advanced load balance(LB) and inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) schemes can promote thethroughput of the mobile system. The main content of this paper includes:1. Analyzed the existing LB technologies in LTE-Advanced and proposed the“Ping-Pong effect” due to the improper period of radio resource status report. In the last, based on the technology of SON, an efficient arithmetic to adaptively adjust the periodof radio resource status report was proposed.2. Analyzed the significant challenges femtocell brought to us, especially thecross-tier interference. We simulated the interference problem in the two-tier system andthen presented a novel scheme of configuring femtocell users’ power and spectrumjointly to reduce the inter-cell interference.
