As a measured angular velocity device with all-solid-state and high-precision, in thestrap-down inertial navigation system, the laser gyro has broad applications in the future.However, the lock-in effect of the laser gyro limits its applications in the developmentand production process. To establish the error model over the lock-in area and tocalculate error using the given parameters of the laser gyro have drawn wide attention.In this paper, based on the structural, work characteristics and the three errortheories of the total reflection prism laser gyro(TRPLG), the optical axis offset formulais used to calculate the offset error of points in the ring resonant cavity according totransmission matrix of the total reflection prism ring resonant cavity. The scale factorerror of the laser gyro is derived under the idea input and output equation. For thedither-bias laser gyro, the passing the lock-in area characteristics is analyzed accordingto the beat frequency equation in the time domain and frequency domain respectively. Amathematical error model over the lock-in area is established. Finally, the simulationplatform is developed on error characteristics of the total reflection prism lasergyro(TRPLG).The results of the simulation show that the platform can simulate many kinds ofenvironment and used to improve the performance of the laser gyro.
