In digital communication system, channel coding technology is usually applied toimprove the reliability of data transmission, some redundancy are increased artificiallyso that the system has automatic error detection or correction capability. In the field ofcommunication countermeasures, in order to obtain more effective information aboutthe enemy, there is need for identifying the intercepted data coding modes andestimating the coding parameters, so the blind recognition technology of channel codinghas important practical applications. With the continuous development of channelcoding theory and the expansion of channel coding applications, the blind recognitiontechnology of channel coding will become increasingly important. In this paper, the blind recognition of channel coding is studied. Firstly, the presentresearch situation of the blind recognition of channel coding has been analyzed, and thebasic knowledge of linear block codes, convolutional codes and Turbo codes have alsobeen introduced briefly. Secondly, several available methods of blind recognition of theconvolutional codes have been discussed in detail, one of which is extended to the blindrecognition of sub-encoder of Turbo codes, and the interweave parameters of Turbocodes are studied. Two codes length recognition methods using Hamming distance forlinear block codes have been put forward, then a generator matrix or a generatorpolynomial is obtained by simplifying the available matrices. Both theoretical analysisand simulation result show that the method of estimating the length of codes is effective.End of the paper, concludes with a summary of the overall research and a prospect forthe following research.
