The Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) system is an important technology for the 3G and future wireless communications, which is suitable for high-throughput and reliable communication. The validating system provides a platform for performance analysis of MIMO system. In this paper, the basic idea of validating system is first presented, based on which an implementation scheme of MIMO Turbo codes in Ti TMS320C6416 is proposed. In addition, the algorithm concatenating Turbo TCM and space time coding is introduced, then we provide an improved algorithm which is more suitable for project application. The validating system employs the Turbo Encoder and Decoder in WCDMA and we experiment the Turbo codes with 1/2,1/3 rates. From the perspective of project application, TMS320C6416 is chosen as hardware platform and C programming is employed. We provide two schemes for hardware implementation of Turbo codes, and their performance is evaluated by the DSP simulator. The simulation results demonstrate that the Turbo codes implementation scheme proposed in this paper can improve the error rate of the system with high speed, the capacity of the MIMO validating system for contradicting the channel disturbance is enhanced correspondingly.Previous studies have shown that considerable diversity and coding gains can be achieved by concatenating Turbo codes and space time codes. In section IV we present two concatenation schemes and their performance is compared by simulations. In addition we propose an improved algorithm for the soft information calculation from the space time coding module, simulation results show that this new algorithm can greatly reduce the complexity with slight performance degrade. |
