| According to the requirements for transmit and receive antennas with high gain andefficiency in satellite communication system, a single offset reflector antenna is studied in thispaper. The overall single offset reflector antenna system mainly includes reflector and feed.Firstly, geometry characteristics of and analysis methods for the rotating parabolic reflectorantenna are given in this paper. Secondly, the design method of feed for reflector antenna isintroduced, followed by mainly studies for two types of designed and optimized feeds:axial-path-slot corrugated conical horn and wide-flare-angle sparse-slot corrugated conicalhorn. Thirdly, the overall design concept for feed used in single offset reflector antenna ispresented, and combined with the optimized wide-flare-angle sparse-slot corrugated conicalhorn, a single offset reflector antenna, working at Ku band, is designed, simulated andmeasured aiming to be used in the portable area satellite communication system. Themeasured results are good agreement with the simulated ones. Finally, based on therequirements of modern satellite communication for antennas with multi-band, dualpolarization, multi-polarization and other performance, an Ortho-Mode Transducer (OMT) isstudied and designed in order to obtain a feed with characteristics of dual-band and linearpolarization. |
