Research On And Implementation Of The Test To The Performance And Security Of Network Devices For IP Network Tester

With the rapid expansion of Internet technology, the ceaseless occurrence of newnetwork applications and the increasing complication of network topology, good servicequality and adequate security guarantee are more and more required. The networkmeasurement and management tools play an important role in ensuring the efficiencyand reliable operation of network. This paper mainly focuses on researching theperformance test of the equipment connecting network, and the security assessment ofrouter in IP network tester.Firstly, this paper introduce the development of network measurement, theconcepts, performance metrics, measurement methods and key techniques of IP networktester; Secondly, make a general introduction to the software and hardware architectureand software development process of IP network tester. And describe the networksecurity package and graphics library used in the research of this paper in detail: Libnet,Libpcap and MiniGUI. Thirdly, for network interconnecting devices, such as switch,router and so on, a system for testing their performances is designed and achieved, thetest result is displayed by the graphical interface, which is convenient to analysis. Andthen on the basis of this, the router security scanning technology is studied. In theprocess of implementing this technology, multiple-processes and multi-threads are used.According to the scanning results, security holes and potential safety problems can beassessed. Finally, this paper summarizes the solutions of the problems which areencountered in the project, and put forward to the next research direction of the projectand network measure development.
