Design Of The Dimmable LED Scheme And Its Driver

With the rapid development of global industry, deterioration of the globalenvironment and climate, the energy problem has caught more and more publicattention. Energy saving and consumpt reduction has become a significant strategicsubject today. LED Lamp, with the features of high luminous efficiency, energy savingand long life, is superior to traditional lights. And the successful application ofdimming technology in LED lighting will further enhance the effect of energy saving.Therefore, the design of the dimmable LED and its driver, has become an importantresearching problem. Because the Requirements of driver to the LED dimming is toomuch, the design is more complex.In this paper, the lighting principle and characteristics of the LED are introduced.Combined with the lighting principle of the LED, three dimming LED technologies aregiven in detail.And also gives three dimmable LED drivers: dimmable LED driverbased PWM, dimmable LED driver based triac and EZ dimmable LED driver. Themain experimental results and calculation of circuit parameters are obtained. Theresults show that the designs of the dimmable LED drivers can meet the designrequirements.
