The traditional synthetic aperture radar(SAR) works based on step in a stopĪ¼pulse. In the long distance, requirements for the launch system, feeder systems andplatforms of fitness are higher, so do the system weight, power consumption and cost. The combination of the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) technologyand synthetic aperture radar (SAR) technology has promoted the born of thelight-weight, low-cost and low-power imaging radar. Because the receiver uses aDechirp receiving system, the mixing of the echo signal with the reference signalresults in a smaller difference frequency bandwidth. And this can reduce therequirements for the receiving channel, A/D acquisition and signal processingequipment. This small system is easy to install in the small aircraft, small unmannedaircraft, or even model aircraft, so it is more user-friendly to be used fortwo-dimensional surface imaging. This thesis discusses the design implementation of a small radar signal processingsystem based on the FPGA+DSP architecture, which works in the frequencymodulated continuous wave mode. It mainly introduces the programmable logicportion of the system design and implementation. The core of the system is the FPGAchip, which completes parts of the image processing. The DSP chip is responsible forthe follow-up image processing operation. And the final result will be sent to the hostto display real-time imaging. System design and implementation involving in signalacquisition, data storage, pulse compression based on the FPGA chip, communicationinterface, etc., will be discussed in detail in the thesis.
