The Design And The Application Of Urban Basic Gen-spatial Framework

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can relieve urban planners from the heavy duties of manual operations by using information systems to support the management and decision analysis, improve scientific and standardized level, use various social-information efficiently, ensure the completeness and timeliness of information, improve the speed of researching, and facilitate the sharing of information. GIS can make a dynamic monitoring for the construction and management of cities, and also make a timely response to the development of cities, provide decision-support for the social and economic activities, and guide the design and construction of various social-engineering. At the same time, GIS itself is also an essential information-infrastructure for modern society.Based on the practical work, this paper puts Weihai as a pilot area, making a deep study of the basic framework for the exchange of geo-spatial networks of cities, the development of spatial data and other development of system, and make a foundation for geographic-information system of urban laid. With the actual working experience, research findings and the analysis of urban sectors, starting from the characteristics of data-applications of some departments, determining the D1g, Dom, Dem three types of data as the city’s basic geographic-information data, determining the need to achieve the platform of data management, data updating, data sharing and service and system management features as four main categories, and at the same time, combining the actual situation in the pilot area in Weihai, I have built Weihai forestry geographic-information systems model and other thematic application system, which supply more accurate basic-picture and basic forestry-information, reduce the working load and save money, increase the accuracy of general investigation, and reduce the frequency of reworking for the general investigation of forestry resource. And GIS can also find forestry fire and plant disease easily, and give information-supporting and assistant decision for eliminating all kinds of forestry disease reducing the loss to the lowest point. This system has brought good economic benefit and social benefit.
