Design And Implementation Of Authentication Platform Based On Digital Home Gateway

Digital home is a kind of intelligent home that connects a variety ofcommunications equipment, computer equipment, household appliances and securityequipment through wired or wireless network in together to provide integrated data,voice, multimedia, control and management functions, which is based on computertechnology and network technology. Gateway is the core of the digital home and thebridge which links the home network and the external network. Digital home networkbring safety problems to people while it growing, such as internal capture anddestruction, unauthorized access to users, steal information and damage the integrity ofinformation.In order to ensure security, reliability and integrity of information in the digitalhome network, it needs authentication while accessing to the digital home network.Based on the analyse of the digital home key technology and existing identityauthentication technology, this paper put forward a method of design andimplementation of authentication platform based on digital home gateway in view ofthe network structure with a core of gateway. This implementation mainly includesthree parts. First, the identity authentication system structure based on the digital homegateway is designed to realize user authentication by referenced IEEE802.1x accesscontrol structure. Second, Linux dynamic shared library technology is used to achievethe scalability of authentication protocols.Third, based on the netfilter/iptables packagemanagement system, data packet forwarding rules are set to filter and control theillegal packet and provide access control function.Based on experiments and measures, the identity authentication platform based ondigital home gateway designed in this paper meets the security requirements of userauthentication and preventing illegal users from getting digital home service,supporting for the development of home gateway and internal services.
