This study mainly focus on the empirical relationships between objects and their owners in cross-cultural environment. Through investigating the ways individuals extract meaning from their household possessions. I tend to discuss how the young Chinese people in Britain relate to the foreign environment involving domestic objects. Thus, drawing on the in-depth interviews of young Chinese overseas students who are living in the London Metropolitan Area. I attempt to explore the role of household things and living rooms in people’s life in order to define their patterns of social intercourse, attitude about overseas life and cultural adaptation. |
