In the era when the newspaper market largely relies on information technologies, an efficient and reliable information system becomes one of the fundamental elements in newspaper business operation and its core competence. This thesis, based on the current development of information system in China’s newspaper industry, elaborates the demand to build information systems, puts forward a suggestion of overall design and implementation approaches for the newspaper industry information system, providing a practical guideline to assist building an information system in the newspaper industry and resolve issues during implementation.The thesis firstly analyzes the status quo of domestic and foreign newspaper industry development and their respective information systems, describes the present situation and future development of domestic newspaper industry, and identifies the existing issues in the process of building a information system; moreover, in light of China’s newspaper information system characteristics, it analyzes the needs, key technologies and parameters for the newspaper enterprise information system; puts forward the overall structure of newspaper enterprise information system, describes the design principles, physical and logical structures, system security and standard specifications of the said overall structure, and provides function design for various sections of network operation platform; then based on newspaper industry application system needs, provides the design and the implementation for the application system’s operation platform; as well as the design models for specific operational systems; lastly, through analyzing the information system functions and their needs for security, it proposes the overall design and function design for news obtaining and editing system of newspaper enterprises, as well as the overall model, system structure design and technical scheme for the system security structures.
