At present, the United States, Europe, Japan and other developed countries have done a in-depth study on the transmission technology of digital information. China has also conducted the research to the source coding and the relevant standards of digital satellite communications, digital cable and digital terrestrial television. The transport protocol which is defined for transmission multiplexing and the harsh environment is supported by a wide range of applications, but this protocol is very hard to be comprehended in teaching and studying. With the continuous advancement of information technology, the computer technology, communication technology and multimedia technology are increasingly integrating, which has had a profound impact on the traditional education. and which also provides a means for teaching and studying about a plurality of transport stream data’s time-division multiplexing.Based on the transport stream, this paper presents a design for the structure and function of a teaching platform which could realize the multi-channel data transmission. According to the function, the platform can be divided into data preprocessing module, data stream multiplexing module, data stream analysis module and user interface module. The user can complete the data preprocessing, data stream multiplexing, and data stream analysis process through friendly interface. This paper analyzes the functional requirements of each module, and mainly presents the design and implementation of the user interface module, data processing module, data stream multiplexing module and data stream analysis module. The user interface module is the platform entrance, taking charge of the invoking and management of the rest function modules in the platform; the data preprocessing module as a pretreatment device before data stream multiplexing, can convert the multimedia data into MPEG-2coded transport stream packets when the data encoding formats do not match, also we can set the arguments such as video resolution and frame rate; the data stream multiplexing module can interleave the various multimedia data which will be multiplexed, then generate a new data stream with uniform structure, and complete the time division multiplexing; the data stream analysis module can analyze the transport stream and obtain detailed information, then save the information in the form of text document, which will facilitate the analysis and research. Practices show that the platform has such advantages as intuitive and reliable, simple operation, practicability in the teaching. The teaching platform has passed the integrated test and gained good results.
