Gesture recognition technology based on data glove is making use of gesture moving data to analyze the corresponding gestures which is transmitted by data glove. Compared with gesture recognition technology based on vision information, gesture recognition technology based on data glove has some advantages such as little environmental interference, high recognition rate and real-time gesture recognition. With the rapid development of computer technology, gesture recognition technology based on data glove has gat more and more attention from researchers.This paper is on the background of digital sandbox project. It uses the method of data glove gesture recognition as human-computer interaction. And it makes in-depth analysis of the status quo and the key technologies of gesture recognition technology based on data glove. It makes use of the technologies of multithread, serial communication, data analysis.3D rendering and other key technologies. And finally this paper achieves the goals of scene simulation and special effects display. In this paper, the work accomplished and the results are as follows:(1) Wireless data gloves communication method based on RS-232serial port. It proposes a method for communication between software and single chip microcomputers based on RS-232serial port under the principle of computer data interface and communication protocol. It uses Windows API functions and multi-thread. It gets contents and changes them into different types according to the computer conversion.(2)3D gesture recognition method based on feature extraction. It proposes a method for3D gesture recognition based on feature extraction through the gesture information. For this goal, it accomplishes a serial of actions such as action segmentation, data processing, feature extraction and gesture contrast and so on.(3) Interactive effects based on wireless data glove. It proposes a method for interactive effects based on wireless data glove. Firstly, it analyses the theory of particle system. And then it analyses the principle of particle system which is designed by Ogre (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine) which is a flexible3D engine designed by C++. It stimulates different interactive particle effects by different gesture response.(4) Realize an interactive system based on wireless data glove. According to the rule of software engineering, program every module and solve the key issues in the system. It completes the modules mentioned above and makes these in use, that is wireless data gloves communication method based on RS-232serial port,3D gesture recognition method based on feature extraction and Interactive effects based on wireless data glove.
