As an applied discipline alone with theoretical derivation and scientificexperiments, simulation has many advantages such as good controllability,non-destructive, low cost and not condition-restricted. So it’s widely used inproduct design and development to production test, and then to use maintenanceand other aspects. Semi-physical simulation has obvious advantages compared withthe traditional simulation process. Since the semi-physical simulation technologyassociates simulation platform with real hardware, reduces the errors due to theimprecision in the modeling of the simulation object and improves the accuracy ofthe simulation. In the field, many companies have introduced finishedsemi-physical simulation platforms, most of them use dedicated simulation systemsand interface devices. Although these dedicated systems have some advantages interms of compatibility and real-time performance, however, there is obviouslyinsufficient in scalability and post-use costs, which makes them difficult to meet thediverse needs that may arise in the research tasks. Therefore, there is considerablepractical significance in discovering real-time semi-physical simulation platformusing general-purpose computer system as well as for general industrial useinterface devices. In this paper, firstly summarized the current mainstream real-timesemi-physical simulation platform, and after a comprehensive analysis of theadvantages and disadvantages of each platform, platform based onMATLAB/Simulink combined with Real-time Workshop is selected as study object. The main contents include:1. Build of real-time simulation environment based on MATLAB/Simulink,including software part, hardware part and connecting target computer with hostcomputer.2. Device driver developing in xPC Target environment. Because xPC Targetuses a special real-time core, windows drivers are not available in xPC Targetenvironment. So manual driver writing is needed.3. Based on the above, a real-time semi-physical simulation prototype systemis built. With it, data acquisition function is achieved. For the possible futuresemi-physical simulation and model validation task, functions involved arecommissioned.
