ZigBee is a short distance, low data rate, low power consumption, low complexity andlow cost two-way wireless communication technology based on IEEE802.15.4standards.ZigBee has been maintained and developed standards by the ZigBee alliance. ZigBeeAlliance was founded in2002, which is an open, non-profit organization. Any enterprise,university and government around the world can join the group, whose behavior and thedirection decided by each member. In short, ZigBee is a highly reliable wireless datatransmission network, similar to the CDMA and GSM mobile communication network.ZigBee data transmission module is similar to a mobile network base station, generallyused for short-distance, low-data-rate communications applications, but it supportsunlimited expansion. ZigBee network can accommodate up to65,000wireless modules,including full-function device node (FFD) and limited-function device node (RFD).This paper, which is supported by Changchun Science and Technology Plan Projects:"smart home key device research and development in Internet of Things", has designed andimplemented the hardware and software of intelligent home gateway, sensor node andcontrol node based on ZigBee.The hardware of this paper mainly uses the TI LM3S9B96chip, CC2520chip andCC2530chip. LM3S9B96is a32bit microcontroller based on ARM Cortex-M3, using theThumb-2instruction set. The microcontroller has rich peripheral interfaces andStellarisWare software package provided supported by TI, making it easy for applicationdevelopment. CC2520is TI’s second generation ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4RF transceiver,and it uses the2.4G license-free ISM band. Then this article introduced the design ofgateway consisting of LM3S9B96and CC2520. CC2530is system-on-chip solution for2.4GHz IEEE802.15.4and ZigBee Applications. The system-on-chip contains the8051CPUkernel and2.4GHz wireless transceiver.The software mainly adopts the TI StellarisWare software package, Z-Stack protocolStack and the free open source real-time system FreeRTOS, TCP/IP protocol Stack LwIP,etc. As this paper designed ZigBee network node using CC2530, these nodes may havesensors and controllers; Design the ZigBee gateway with LM3S9B96and the CC2520. Thegateway is responsible for FreeRTOS and LwIP transplantation based on Z-Stack, also includes the ZigBee network management, data cache and upload information onApplication layer for smart home. ZigBee network node is mainly to add sensor and thecontrol program of controller on the basis of Z-Stack, and also set parameters of the upperdata.With the rapid development of technology and the improvement of people’s livingstandard, people pay more attention to the quality of life. Smart home has attracted moreand more attention and expectations. As the increased demand of home environmentcomfort and safety, the smart home system is also developed rapidly. Traditional intelligenthome system has the shortcomings of complex installation, high power consumption,uneasy expand, high cost and difficult maintenance. In this paper, the design of smart homesystem not only can satisfy the basic requirements, but also remove the disadvantages of thetraditional intelligent house system, improve the flexibility of the system, and is easy toconnect to other devices.
