| With the boom of the digital publishing industry, and the prompt expansion of digital reading market, the e-book industry ushered in a great opportunity. China’s e-book industry is developing rapidly and has become an important e-book producing and consuming country. As a result, the domestic demand for e-book reading software continues to grow.We have developed an EPUB format e-book reader on the Android platform. The project is developed on the base of the existing version of Linux EUPB, to complete the transplant of Linux system management module to the Android platform, and the display and interactive features of e-book readers. The Android platform is presently the most widely used mobile platform, and the EPUB format e-book is also known for its powerful features, therefore, this system is expected to have a great prospect.At the beginning of the paper, the paper introduces the demand analysis and system structure of an EPUB e-book reader. Then the design and realization of every module is explained in detail according to the module division of the system. Great emphasis is laid on the display and interactive features, as well as the way of using Necessitas and JNI on platform transplantation. Finally, it reveals the interface and operation of the software,and the test results of the important functions of the software.This paper shows the e-book reader software development process, and discusses the important and difficult function in the design and development of the e-book reader. It sums up Necessitas projects and the JNI technology development experience to be learned for future development work and other transplantation work. |
