With the promotion of’Safety City’, the demand of video surveillance systems in various industries is growing rapidly, developing in the direction of network, intelligent, digital, and embedded. Traditional DVR video surveillance systems are mainly applied on analog cameras, of which the resolution can hardly meet the demand for high-definition. Meanwhile, most DVR systems are produced only as the front-end products, and the weakness in back-end management, storage and decoding badly limited their applications. Nowadays, NVR, emerging with numerous advantages:simple wiring; low cost; less interrupted image; high reliable and convenient storage; easy networking and good compatible to high-definition, become a hot research technology. Local management software is a critical part of NVR video surveillance systems. This thesis designed and implemented local management software of NVR based on Tilera multicore processor, providing a fast and efficient local management system of network video recorder on the needs of the business management. Microwindows was chosen as our graphical interface. Infrared driver was integrated in the driver module. And a self-designed Framebuffer was added and optimized. GUI plug-in set based on Microwindows was amended and expansed. Local management software was designed and implemented to provide users with full functions, like video resource viewing, playback, device control, parameters setting and alarm linkage configuration. With the advantages of efficient parallel data processing of Tilera multicore processor, display module can rapidly zoom and combine multiple video streams with video data of local management software, and then display them through the FPGA interface. The experiments show that the system can fully accomplish the requirements of all functions, and support multi-stream and multi-window video surveillance. The time spent from zoom to display is less than11ms.
