With the development of the non-standard equipment which is used in theautomobile industry manufacturing factory,imported from foreign graduallytrend localization. Through case,the vehicle door lock cable test bench design,with modular design method as the research object,with ‘modular designmethod’ as the center and the CAD/CAE for means of realization. Deepingresearch the modular design method,summarizes the rules and skills,apply themodular design ideal into the design process of the automobile industrynon-standard equipment, in order to promoting the localizable process ofnon-standard equipment in automobile industry.Firstly, with the statistic data, analyse the dynamics and development ofautomobile manufacture industry, meanwhile establishing the purpose andcontent of this thesis. In design process of the cable test rig, use thevisualizations show the advantages of modular design method, shows thegeneral design process of the non-standard equipment.Secondly, introducing modular design method and deepening the modulardesign conception, by the summary of design concepts and methods of theabove mentioned cases. At the same time, suming up the characteristics andmanufactur process of non-standard in automobile industry. Emphasizing thatduring the design process should pay more attention to materials, manufacturing,installation, commissioning, after-sales and delivery and other factors. Duringdesign process should use feasible calculation methods and materials, as well aschoosing appropriate standard parts and structure, in addition, a reasonablechoice of machining process and post-treatment process is also very important.Accurate application of CAD/CAE tools-SolidWorks, using the owneredstandard library and modular design, you can quickly and efficiently completethe design task.Thirdly, through the electronic catalog of mainflow standard parts suppliers,using the visualization, seamless link with mainstream CAD/CAE software,you can quickly cteate the digital-model, which simplifing the design process,reducing the workload and reducing design failure, saving time and material costs, increasing efficiency and market competitiveness. Analysising selectrequirements and principles of standard parts to help users quickly create a"standard library", researching method of expanding the "standard library" andthe principle of selection.Finally, a summary of the method of non-standard equipment designflow-chart and proposal, pointed out that the mechanical design personnel innon-standard equipment design process should be organized to establish a"standard library", and continue to the fullness of the standard library, enhancecorporations’ core competitiveness.In the non-standard equipment design and project design process, the use of"modular" design method can not only enhance the market competitiveness, butalso enhance more profitable for enterprises, help enterprises based on themarket. At the same time, make due contribution for the localization ofequipment manufacturing enterprises in China’s automotive industry.
