In recent years, with the rapid development of micro-electromechanicalsystems, system-on-chip, wireless communication and low-power embeddedtechnology, wireless sensor networks bred, and because of its low-cost,low-power, distributed and self-organizing features, it has great applicationvalue in the military investigation, environmental monitoring, etc.But because of low-cost wireless sensor network hardware processor fun-ction is weak, limited carry energy data traffic and other factors, makes traditi-onal MAC protocol suitable for mobile communication networks, such asBluetooth networks, and Wireless Lan, is no longer suitable for wireless sensornetworks. How to improve the energy efficiency of the nodes, in the case oflimited energy, as much as possible to work longer hours. Extend the networkoverall survival period, it must be an important considered problem, when wedesign a wireless sensor network protocol.This paper first introduces the concept of a wireless sensor networkarchitecture, features,application prospects and current development; There is ageneral understanding of wireless sensor networks. Analysis the problems facedby wireless sensor networks in theoretical research and application. Study thistypical affect the significance of the MAC protocol and learn the theoreticalresults and methods of the MAC protocol. Design a hybrid MAC protocol–TC-MAC protocol based on hierarchical algorithm combines CSMA/CA mechan-ism and TDMA mechanism. In this protocol,Hierarchical algorithm, the entirenetwork node is divided into a plurality of clusters, each cluster consists of acluster head node and multiple nodes in the cluster. Cluster head using CSMA/CA competition channel, the nodes in the cluster distribution channel TDMAmechanism. Cluster head node using CSMA/CA competition channel, enh-anced network scalability, and timely transmission of data to reduce the datatransmission delay. Nodes within the cluster assignment channel by TDMA me-chanisms, in order to avoid data collision and crosstalk between nodes, so that the transmission data can be quickly. And the protocol CSMA/CA mechanismin binary backoff algorithm and leach hierarchical algorithm has been improved.Improve the energy efficiency of the node, node fairness, balance the networkload, and ultimately achieve the purpose of extending the network uptime.
