NCS (network control system) is one of distributed control system. At the same time, NCS is one of network-based control system too. It is one of the hotspots in the Control field which combines the control system with the latest network technology. Real-time Ethernet control system combines the advantages of network and intelligent control. Network control system through a real-time Ethernet to compose a closed-loop feedback control systems. It is a collection of the scene detection, control system, operation of equipment and communication lines in an area. NCS provides data transmission among equipments, and let users on different locations to realize the resource sharing and coordination of operations. It is the extension and application of Ethernet technology in the control system field. With the control system of the growing scale, the the usage of real-time ethernet control technology will become increasingly widespread.By reviewing the development of network control system, this article detailing the characteristics of Ethernet control system and the mathematical model. Discussed the problems of the Ethernet control system, including network-induced delay, sampling rate, the network packets discarded,and so on, and their solutions and strategies. Analyzed advantages and disadvantages of CSMA/CD and CSMA/CD-TDMA. Simulated Ethernet control system based on CSMA/CD and CSMA/CD-TDMA, and gived a comparative result. Finally, we provide a new protocol model which have both advantages of this two protocol, and get a satisfactory simulation result.
