Based on the environment of Virtual and Reality United Lab (VRUL), this thesis made research on the design and deployment of simulation computing cluster, which is designed to establish a high performance service architecture of the virtual experiment environment. The development of the cluster system has been finished by the end of2012. It guarantees the experiments, such as Circuit Theory, Analog Circuits, Digital Circuits etc., can be conducted smoothly, and also it provides a strong support for the continuing development of the new experiment modules. The VRUL integrates virtual simulation and physical interaction experiment results, and provides a way for students to do off-site experiments. On one hand, it meets the requirements that education resource should be of diversity and informationization. On the other hand, students can compare the difference between the results from Virtual simulation and the results from the actual device, and it can strengthen students’ command of knowledge and help them feel the advanced achievements of modern education. During the development process, based on the classic waterfall development model, we completed the analysis, design, implementation, testing and other steps, combined with previous experience and effective results. The research of this thesis mainly solved the problem of providing a stable, high-performance simulation cluster system for VRUL, with load balancing and task scheduling. In addition, we made use of server virtualization technology to deploy the cluster, and designed the model of the circuit and microelectronics experiments. Firstly, the thesis describes the overall system structure, function definitions and innovative significance. Then, the design and deployment of simulation cluster and related technologies are depicted. Finally, we designed some experimental models, and showed the results. We tested and optimized the performance of the system, and solved some of the problems encountered during the development process.
