With the development of society, and people’s security awareness enhancements, aswell as criminals take advantage of the advanced science and technology, the means ofcriminal become more complicated and intelligent. So, the security technology isbecoming more and more important. Currently, the traditional means of prevention, suchas active infrared alarm system, microwave wall alarm system, the leaked cable-styleperimeter detection and alarm system and so on have defects in the condition such as theharsh environment, electromagnetic interference etc. more or less. Therefore, highresponsivity, high accurate alarm rate and positioning perimeter security system becomeparticularly important.Through the analysis of the current perimeter security systems, the paper constructeddistributed perimeter security systems based on fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer tosolve the traditional security system in measuring short distances, the system activesusceptible to electromagnetic interference, short life, vulnerabledefects of the externalenvironment interference, and achieved the following objectives:(1) long-distance passivedetection;(2) low energy dependence;(3) timely responsing to external disturbances;(4)accurately determining the position disturbance occurred.This paper constructed perimeter security system to make up the traditional securitysystem solutions inadequate which based on fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer on theanalysis at home and abroad.The feasibility and reliability of the optical structure in theperimeter security was proved by theoretical analysis of signal modulation,demodulation and error.The smulation program based on the LabVIEW platformcontrasted the two demodulation scheme, and proved the feasibility and low-cost systembased on2×2coupler; theoretical analysis and simulation studies were verified by theresults of the experiments and data, and the system can accurately locate within the errorrange,it can replace the traditional perimeter security systems through further research.
