With the development of the society, the application of embedded system has been an important part of people's life. Now, most of the embedded system is based on single-core processor, such as ARM, PowerPC, and DSP. The advantage of these devices is low cost, but they are not be complex, quick and big(memory) enough, so that TI design and produce OMAP, one kind of dual-core processor:One core is ARM used for control, the other core is DSP used for data processing. This paper presents a design to achieve remote-controlling image display system based on OMAP5910. The OMAP5910 chip is the core of the OMAP5910 platform's hardware, which is low power cost and has many interfaces. Embedded Linux is the operating system of OMAP5910 platform, which provides drivers of the platform's peripheral devices. AX88796 is used to achieve Ethernet interface of OMAP5910 platform and 3.5-inch TFT-LCD board LQ035Q7DB02 is used to achieve LCD interface of OMAP5910 platform. Application of command transmission and image display are based on socket programming and Framebuffer using of Linux, which need to replant to Davinci(DM6446) platform. The experimental result shows that, one PC can remoting-control some OMAP5910 platforms to display images at one time. Under the LAN environment, the speed of transmission of commands and files can catch 10Mbps; the BMP image whose resolution is 240*320, and color is RGB565 can be displayed on OMAP5910 platform; the stereo image whose resolution is 1600*1200, and color is RGB888 can be displayed on Davinci (DM6446) platform.
