With the exponential increase in mobile customer base resulting in rapidexpansion of telecommunications network, there is great contention for GSM networkfrequency resources. This creates a problem with many operators where the mainconsumer market is still GSM based. Proper frequency planning, reducing frequencyinterference is crucial in providing a good foundation for network optimization.Optimization engineers will be required to design a frequncy planning algorithm,taking into consideration the network structure, traffic distribution and wirelesspropagation model. The ultimate goal of the frequency planning algorithm is toimprove the wireless network quality and optimize the use of available frequencies.This article analyses a frequency optimization algorithm. The algorithm is able toautomatically generate frequency optimization planning results based on the practicalnetwork information so as to meet the challenges of managing a fast expandingwireless network. |
