With the rapid development of wireless communication network, some new application, such asmobile video and wireless sensor, began to enter people’s field of vision. These new applicationusually require simple Encoding end, high compression efficiency and good error resiliencecapability. The traditional video coding technology can’t meet the application requirements becauseof the complex encoding end. Distributed video coding is a kind of new coding mode. It has theability to meet the requirements above. At present the mainstream of DVC scheme usually divide the video sequences into K frame andWZ frame. K frame(key frame)transfers by traditional intraframe coding. WZ frame, ascompression coding frame, transfers by joint source-channel coding technology. This paper is dedicated to the study of WZ frame in distributed video coding scheme based ontransform domain, including the domain of DCT and DWT. And this paper puts forward severalimprovements:1. Propose a new method, named FHFSI(fill the high frequency part with side information) with theanalysis of the similarity between the side information and original image;2. Introduce the lifting algorithm of integer wavelet transform, then simplify the calculation processto further improve the efficiency;3. Construct the improvement scheme with embedded hierarchical coding and FHFSI method, thencompare the experimental results with h.263+(intraframe coding) and h.264(intraframe coding). The results show that, the improved scheme based on DWT has a decoding quality close toh.264(intraframe coding), higher than h.263+(intraframe coding). And the improved scheme basedon DCT has a decoding quality close to h.263+(intraframe coding), lower than the scheme based onDWT.
