With the application and development of optical transport network (OTN) based on intelligentoptical network (ION), future optical networks will have wavelength routing networks based onwavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology, which will be assumed the responsibility forrouting and wavelength allocation. Routing and wavelength assignment (RWA) is one of the keytechnologies in WDM networks. RWA problem which choose an appropriate routing path betweenthe source and the destination node in the network, and then assign an appropriate availablewavelength, and can be divided into static RWA and dynamic RWA according to servicecharacteristics. With the explosive growth of data service, optical network consists of the traditionaltransport network gradually to the business network evolution, service features highly differentiatedoptical network in the future, which RWA mechanism proposed new and higher requirements, thatis, not only need to support dynamic service, but also need to achieve differentiation treatmentaccording to different service. This thesis support the distinction between service in intelligentoptical network with dynamic RWA algorithm, which utilize theoretical analysis and numericalsimulation methods to analysis the performance of improved algorithm. The thesis descriptions the the RWA problem in intelligent optical network and existingsolutions; consider different levels of service request to propose wavelength group allocationstrategy (GWAS) strategy and update number of wavelengths in each group in periodtime(T-GWAS). Then combine the strategy and ant colony algorithm together, introducing the linkidle rate of each group wavelength as constraints to achieve network load balancing. The theoreticalanalysis and simulation results show that the improved algorithm to average blocking rate andchannel utilization performance cost of guarantee the service of high-level occupancy wavelengthresources. Thus reduce the blocking rate of high-level service significantly and realize supportingof differentiated QoS.
