Wireless sensor network is constructed with many sensor nodes which have some functions, such as collecting data, computing data and transferring data. And it has been used in a variety of industries. The precondition that such functions play roles is that the nodes have to know where they are. So how to get high accuracy of positioning information has been a key technology in the wireless sensor network.In wireless sensor network, there are two kinds of positioning algorithms, which are the range-based localization algorithm and without range-based localization algorithm.The former requires high accuracy. TOA, TDOA, AOA and RSSI are the main positioning algorithms. They are all used by estimating distance. Then we can easily compute the nodes’ positions by the means of Trilateration, Multilateration, Triangulation, maximum likelihood estimation. And without range-based localization algorithm includes Centroid localization algorithm, DV-HOP, APITImproving the Centroid localization algorithm which aims to improve the positioning accuracy is the focus of the paper. In addition to the fixed anchor nodes, there are some mobile anchor nodes. When knowning the area which consists of anchor nodes that the node perceives, narrow the area as much as possible in order to reduce the distance between the calculated coordinates and the real coordinates. Using Eclipse and MATLAB to achieve the improved algorithm in the later chapters of this paper, analysis the result of the experiment. The main purpose of the paper is to verify if it is reasonable and runnable.
