In recent years,multi-media technology has made considerable progress.Multi-Media application exsits in all corner of people’s life. Multi-media technology is praised highly for its diversity and fun. It will be a good choice and attempt to combine the multi-media technology with the network for the education function.This thesis is going to designing a software teaching application.In the course of the study,the jobs can be listed as follows.This thesis analysis the environment and network topology of the multi-media classroom,show the needs of the software and hardware and give the function of the system. The second job is research of the algorithm such as MPEG-X,H.26X and JPEG.The paper summarize the character of the data aompression for these algorithms.On the basis of the hybrid coding,we put the hybrid coding int the application,using the fixed-blocks hybrid coding to transport the realtime image data.Beacuse this way is non-flexible,and can transport more redundance data,then,we give the self-adaption blocks hybrid coding algorithm. The algorithm can reduce the the amount of information,ensure the speed of real-time image.In terms of audio transmission,we use PCM coding,turn the analog signal to the digital signal,then,the data can freely transport in the network.The multi-media classroom is designed on LAN,and the character of the each function is different.in research,on the basis of the current real-time protocol RTP and RTCP,we can give the ways of the high layer transmission.The paper finally on the research of the data compression and protocol,combine with the program language and the techonogy,complete the software multi-media mode.The experiment show the interface of the function,and contrast the effect of the algorithms, statistics the data of the network transmission and analysis the effect and data.
