With the rapid develop of mobile communication, the communication mode meet with3G. In this paper, smart antennas made of four dual-polarization units are studies and designed. The characteristics of3G smart antenna are high bandwidth dual-polarization, higher gain, high isolation and ideal direction pattern. The smart antenna usually uses array to impove the antenna gain. In this paper, he method of simulation with experiments is used to study and design the antenna. Based on the antenna frequency parameters measured by the vector network analyzer, the array made of four units has been analyzed. Through theoretical analysis, software simulation, the antenna designed in this paper has proved to be effective. The frequency bandwidth has two bands which are A band and B band.A band is between1880MHz and1920MHz as well as B band between2010MHz and2025MHz. the voltage standing wave ratio is not more than2. the gain is14.5dBi.This antenna has simple structure, great performance and satisfied practicability. And it is a good reference for the study and industrialization of3G.
