Nortel Networks CDMA1x EV-DO Wireless Equipments Maintenance And Troubleshooting

CDMA1x EV-DO technology plays an important role in evolving mobiletelecommunication system to the third generation communication (3G).3G mobiletelecommunication mainly consists of Base Station Sub-System, Switch Sub-system andOperation and Administration System. Wireless network is the base of Base StationSub-system, it’s important to research the wireless network. Nortel Networks was mainprovider of CDMA equipments of China Telecom Company, has provided advanced andstable equipments and good service to the customer. Some of equipments of Nortel are stillrunning on the current network of China Telecom. It’s significant to research the NortelEV-DO system.This paper focuses on the theoretical analysis on the Nortel EV-DO system, andengineering implementation of the Guang Dong Nortel EV-DO lab, also some maintenanceexperience in EV-DO subsystem of China Telecom. In the paper, CDMA1x EV-DO systemare introduced, the DOM module and DO-RNC module are introduced, the connectivity of theEV-DO network are introduced also. The paper introduces how to solve the problem of theEV-DO network and the Nortel1x EV-DO system. Some principles of the maintenance andsome remarks of the EV-DO network maintenance are included also. The author himself hasbeen participated the whole project progress of the CDMA1x EV-DO network, including theengineering implementation, testing and system maintenance job.There are seven chapters in this paper. The first chapter introduces the background ofthe paper, the second chapter introduces the overview of CDMA20001x mobilecommunication system and the third chapter introduces the CDMA1x EV-DO system; theforth chapter introduces the Nortel EV-DO system and the equipments, the fifth chapter focuson the maintenance theory of the EV-DO network, the sixth chapter introduces some cases ofEV-DO network. In the last chapter, LTE is introduced. The conclusion is added in the end.
