Along with the rapid development of the economic construction of our nation andsociety, electricity is extensively used in our daily life as an important source of energy.And the power grid is becoming huge and complex. The people can’t continue theireveryday life and work without all kinds of electrical facilities and instruments. Thus therequirement for the security for electric utilization and the reliability for electricity supplyis increasing. Leakage protectors are unprecedentedly and extensively applied to ensurethe security of human and electric instruments. As the hard core of a leakage protector,the leakage protector chip greatly influences the performance of a protector. So it isbecoming extremely important to study and design the leakage protection control circuits.The following is the researching thought and job content of this paper.Firstly, we make our reader familiar with some elementary knowledge of electricityleakage protection by studying the ultimate principle, assortment, scope of application,scope of standard of leakage protector.Secondly, we designed a certain chip on the basis of domestic demand forinexpensive leakage protector chips. It is a chip mainly applied in electricity supplysystems of buildings and houses. It is a tiny power consumption circuit designing. Itssingle current is merely a few microamperes. We applied forward direction designing formost of its principal sub-units. We applied SiGe BiCMOS technology and analog digitalmixture designing. We integrated more than500components and parts. We appliedCadence IC5141for simulation. Its layout designing got through in the SiGe BiCMOStechnology tests of Data Record Control (DRC) and Low Velocity Scanning. We held allkinds of tests and confirmations-included band-gap reference, operational amplifier,logical operation of the circuit designing-to the required inferior functional module of thechip. The results of test and simulation indicated that we achieved the functional andperformance index for each module. We also conducted a system simulation for theoverall circuit. The result showed that our designing corresponds with designrequirements. In addition, this leakage protection chip has got through reliability tests of Stability of Baking, Temperature Circle, High and Low Temperature PerformanceParameters Capacitors, etc.Thirdly, stability and consistency are very important for a leakage protection chip.Serious consequences will be caused once disoperation takes place, So we haveformulated and brought out complete and reliable testing measurements for theparameters of this chip.Finally, according to the specialties of a leakage protection chip, not only have weestablished leakage protection chip test system for the purpose of functional test andperformance test, but also carried out study on anti-jamming measurement of the testingsystem, which possesses the ability of aggregate analysis to the testing results. Forhardware, we applied the method of PROTEL99SE, we designed a set of reliable andstable test system schematic diagrams that include parameter testing. As for software, tomeet the requirement of system automatic testing, we applied Code VisionAVR C toachieve our Single-Chip Microcomputer programming. Thus, this chip testing systemmeets the test requirement of leakage protection chip, The result showed that ourdesigning corresponds with design requirements.
