Preschool education has become an important part of the entire national educationsystem. In order to develop personalized children’s development strategy, evaluation ofpreschool children’s behavior of different ages has drawn greater attention by parents. Ithas become a trend to introduce computer and network technology into the children’sdevelopment evaluation to process the related information under the social demands.Nowadays there are different evaluation methods such as by e-mail or by "chat". Theseassessment methods can get rid of the time limit and the space limit. However theconsultation process is still so mechanical that experts in early childhood educationhave to take part in it. Therefore, it is an important practical value and significance tomake the computer realize the expert intelligence assessment process. It means that thechildren’s development evaluation intelligent has been becoming the focus of the fieldof computer science and artificial intelligence, so the preschool children’s developmentevaluation is realized by the expert system technology.This paper brings expert system to the development of preschool children’sevaluation system and investigates the relative theory and content deeply. Firstly, thekey technology of expert system and children’s evaluation theory are briefly introduced,such as knowledge representation, inference techniques and explanation mechanism;after analysing the entire process of preschool children’s development evaluation andevaluation data of different evaluation methods, the build of the knowledge base isrealized by selecting a synthetical knowledge representation method and the productionrule and frame rule, and using SQL Server to2000database technology. Theprogramming and implement operation are realized by Visual C#.NET program designand ADO.NET respectively. Then, knowledge engineer operates the knowledge editor,such as create, update, edit and delete to relized the management of the knowledge base.On the precondition of knowledge base, user can input the key words of preschoolchildren’s development behavior. Inference Engine is built by the inference enginebased on the combination of production rule and frame rule, and applied the fast table toinference, which improved the speed and flexibility. On the.NET framework, a client-side user interface is it provided by C#, Javascript and XML techniques,inferenced preschool children’s development evaluation, elaborated the coding andrealization of the expert system in this paper, and gave the code implements of somemain modules. Preschool children’s development evaluation expert system usingman-machine dialog is composed of five parts: Knowledge Representation, KnowledgeBase, Knowledge Acquisition, Inference Engine and Interactive Interface. Finally, it isshows that this system can effectively assess preschooler’s development by runninginstance.The preschool children’s development evaluation expert system in this paper isuser-friendly, strong ablility in logic reasoning, simlpe and convenient for useing, lowmaintenance. It can be extended to all kinds of kindergartens as long as adjustingseveral parameters. It’s convenient for evaluating development of preschool educationinstitutions at all levels’ development, and it provides a child’s comprehensiveevaluation report to parents.
