Information Management System For Motor Insurance In Insurance Companies

In2006, the compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance regulations wereintroduced in China. According to the statistics of Transportation Bureau of theMinistry of Public Security, there are over106million automobiles in Harbin, which nodoubt has brought a heavy burden to the data storage and information management ofinsurance company. So it becomes the important work to manage information anddevelop the information management system for the insurance company.After the market research, according to feasibility analysis of motor vehicleinsurance policy and operation flow， through demand analysis and projectapproachment, overall objectives and requirements of the system are put forward.Adopting developing tools and languages of Microsoft Visual Studio2008、C#2.0andASP, following software engineering methods, using components modular pattern, fivemodules, such as staff information management module, customer informationmanagement module etc. are designed with the method of computerization to effectivelymanage the information about the staff, costumers, and insurance policies over the yearsand accidents and so on, and make statistics on the profit and loss of each stage. Thesystem tested and analyzed, the results meet the expectation.The aim of this system is to reduce the cost of information management, increasethe efficiency of management, and make information management standard andpractical. The whole system adopts modular development methods in technology, whichmakes operation simple, maintenance easy, and has enough expansion ability to meetthe needs in future business growth and change. Through detailed analysis, managementinformation system in motor vehicle insurance this paper develops can meet theinsurance business needs, and will make an important contribution to our motor vehicleinsurance industry.Harbin Ping An Insurance Company was founded in March21,1988, which isChina’s first joint-stock insurance company and also a national insurance company. Thispaper takes Harbin Ping An Insurance Company as an example, for short “TheCompany” in the paper.
