Traditional managementmethods relying on personal experience and skills restricted the development ofenterprises greatly so computer software for information management is an inevitable.Although there are many ERP software for the furniture industry seldom for the customfurniture industry. Moreover, because the size of the business of custom furniture andforms of diversity and differences it is difficulty to find a generic ERP software.Therefore developing a software for the specific companies which has specific needshas become an inevitable task.In this paper, a study is commenced on the actual situation and needs of a localcustom furniture chian and then design a set to meet the needs of the enterpriseinformation management system to fully integrate supply, production, marketing andother business of the enterprise into the management of computer. The managementsystem uses C/S (Client/Server) structure, makes visual basic as a developing tool forthe client and the front desk software of server and uses SQL Server2000as back-enddatabase management system. According to various departments the system is dividedinto two modules: one is the server program which charge of the whole systemoperation, database management and coordination of each client runing; the other isclient program of various departments Including the client of chain store sales,production management, materials management and distribution management etc.After development the system has been debugged and delivered to the enterprise for test running. From the information feedback from the enterprise, the software hasgreatly reduce the operating costs of the custom furniture chain in terms of quickOrdering, planned production, optimized cutting and quick delivery and Improved theefficiency of sales and production.It has been praised by the enterprise. |
