With the development of the Internet, instant communication system has becomean important part of daily life. It provides users with real-time communication. P2Ptechnology has been widely used in many areas, for example file storage, searchengines, peer-to-peer computing and so on, People pay more and more attention atinstant communication system base on P2P, the most popular instant communicationsystem such as MSN, ICQ, QQ belong to P2P application, but these type instantcommunication software’s client have not service, and their client will sent datapacket to their server without information interaction for sent their state. It will takeup a lot of bandwidth, and resulting in a waste of resources, it a serious pollution forinternet, with the type of software increasing, it maybe lead to the collapse of interneteasily. While the resource of the type of software store on the server, it require thehigh performance of the server, and can make the server paralysis due to pressure,result in the whole system can’t be used normally. This paper will research instantcommunication system base on P2P.This paper introduce the theory and technology of P2P and instantcommunication system, then explain the significance and value of the research ofinstant communication base on P2P. The system will change C/S pattern, and use thepattern that combine P2P and C/S structure, mainly to P2P technology, it get rid of thebound of center server basically, any peer has client and server together in thenetwork, it can require service as client, and also provide service as server. When useslog in system, the peer access to the server, and download needed information to localserver, then the communication between peers no longer access server. The patternavoid data transmission between client and server with information interaction, soreduce the usage of bandwidth. The system store the resource in all peers distributedin the whole network, so it can ease server’s pressure, and solve the problem of singlepoint failure. This system use xml document store data, and not use DBMS (DataBase Management System), so it reduce the occupation of system resource greatly,and reduce the expenses in Data Base Management System, also improve theefficiency. At the same time consider the security and stability of the system,introduce the peer-to-peer assessment mechanism can avoid the attraction ofmalicious peers effectively in some extent, it also set the function of database backupand record the routine log. This paper use object-oriented thinking to develop a instant communication system base on P2P, at the end develop a network packet captureprogram to test the system and analyze result, it achieved the expected goals basically.
