With the rapid development of network technology, instant message becomes to bea popular real-time communication mode which is based on internet or other cable orwireless network, and a kind of real-time communication service, with which users canestablish personal chat rooms on net. Being an important application of P2P technology, instant message has become to be an indispensable communication mode in people’sdaily life. Though communication system, it can be used to establish a virtual networkcommunity, and provides users with real-time effective communication means. Becauseof the advantages such as interactive strong, cheap, etc, the instant messagecommunication ways have been used in many social industries. And also, enterprisescan make profit of it.The thesis expatiated technique principle of instant communication based on P2Pnetwork, which then was brought into the ideas of college teaching. Combined with thecharacteristics, working methods and the basic requirements, the paper realizedsynchronization between users with which users can realize information interaction, communication, mass information and notice. And the paper solved the differentrequirements of different application needs using different transmission protocols to thetransport layer. For instant, for small volume data such as words, connection-oriented,reliable transport protocols TCP can be used; for large volume data such as voice andvideo, connectionless, insecure transfer protocol UDP can be used. And then the paperdiscussed security threats in detail, in order that campus instant communication systemwhich is based on P2P can achieve optimum operation state.Campus instant messaging system based on P2P technology is used theClient/Serer model, used CAsyncSocket and the derived classes of MFC to realize thecommunication of the bottom, the transport layer using User Datagram Protocol (UDP)to communicate. The clients are convenient to realize directly transfer between eachuser and others, every user communicate with each other using P2P network, it allowsusers to share and exchange resources with other peer directly. In addition, ADO technolog is used to operate and manage database.
