Is there any developing room for Chinese papers, in this article, several mainstream Metropolis in Jinan City, Shandong Province, especially the Qilu Evening? Many people are searching for the answer.The key to the success of a newspaper depends on its front pages. If we call the front page the "face" of a newspaper, the headline would be the "eye" of it. How to make front-pages and headlines more attractive? This article followed the headline making process of Qilu Evening in June2012, to explore the rules of choosing headlines and photos for a newspaper with certain influences, and on what those rules are based.In order to better illustrate the point, this article also compares the headlines of Qilu Evening in June2012, with two other newspapers in Jinan city——the Jinan Times, and the Shandong Business Daily, to explore the features behind their choices, as well as how these features are formed.Each newspaper has its unique features because of its own positioning, and this uniqueness changes from time to time. It is those changes that makes people think: which features are correct, which features have universal significance, and which ones still need further improvement in the future.
