Stabilization platform is an important part of the tracking and search antenna system, featuring high (tracking) accuracy and wide speed range. The key to design of such system is to isolate the disturbances of the platform, improve the accuracy and ensure the low-speed stability under the disturbances of the platform.This paper studied technical features stabilization system and provided a two-axis aiming stabilization tracking system for a integrated weapon system.A compound control system combining Kalman filtering and computer-aided tracking is adopted in this system. The stabilization and tracking system is composed of a narrow-band receiver&filter part and a wide-band DC servo system. The former is intended to provide accurate radar output data (angular errors) while the latter is responsible for pointing and tracking of the target. Rate gyro feedback in azimuth and elevation axes is used to form rate stabilization loops in the system. It is sensitive to the moving speed of the antenna in respect to ground coordinates, and to the unstable angular rate of antenna pointing caused by the platform disturbances so that the effects of platform disturbances on the antenna pointing can be isolated to ensure the implementation of two tasks:tracking the target and isolating the platform disturbances. Important and key parts and the control computer hardware required by the stabilization control system are chosen after comparison of the hardware performance parameters. Finally frame design of its control software is made based on the function requirements of the control system, realizing the function of multiple platform communication and control.Comparison of experiments shows the system which adopts rate compensation provides a very good solution to vehicle-based integrated weapon platforms, and can be also used in tracking, ranging, positioning and other systems on land-based vehicle platform.
