Collaborative editing is not a new concept, computer supported cooperative work(CSCW) has been proposed since the80’s, has become the most vitality and prospects oftoday’s multi-disciplinary areas of frontier research. From the perspective of the CSCWapplication is divided into four categories, including a class of systems for collaborativewriting and discussion, to support members of the collaboration between the consultation anddiscussion, the typical application is document of collaborative writing, it is to finalize acommon document as the purpose of collaboration.The extensive use of hypertext technology is the collaborative editing system, animportant feature. Collaborative editing of hypertext structure offers an ideal dataorganization mechanism, it can provide a document structure based on collaboration anddistribution division of labor management. Hypertext documents more suitable thanconventional document carried out a collaborative editing, because conventional document isa continuous linear structure, document no division in the organization means so collaborativewriting, difficult division. The hypertext document discrete nodes and hyperlinksorganizations help people when the document collaboration task partitioning, multi-memberscan share in a distributed environment to complete the different parts of the document througha hyperlink to link the various parts to maintain ultra-the integrity of text documents,especially those with a good level of organizational structure more conducive to large-scalehypertext document collaboration and storage management to achieve the division of labor.WEB writing some of the existing practical tools, the majority can not be effectivelycoordinated to support a team to write, one has to manually merge the manner of writing largedocuments. Some well-known large-scale tools such as Microsoft FrontPage and so on, cansupport based on working group writing a simple document collaboration, a team from the division of a fixed portion of their writing, complete with all parts of the independentpublishing to the server, but the writing is difficult to easily access documents or links to otherpersonnel, the difficulty in various parts of after all alone with the release to the server. Thisapproach is also relatively simple collaborative writing, more restrictive, difficult to meet thedemanding application of the level of collaboration.For the application of WEB documentation and combined with the actual needs of aproject, this paper propose a directory node technology, which expands the level of structurein WEB document and provides visual documentation of the directory node tree structure tosupport WEB documents collaborative editing. As one important branch of CSCW,collaborative editing should provide good data organization collaborative approach and solvethe difficulties in team authoring by using the concurrent control method of catalog pathlocking, including using the design mode with a multi user interface. This paper mainlydiscusses the document catalog node tree technology, collaborative document managementwhich is based on such directory tree structure of nodes during WEB collaborative editing andconcurrency control strategies.
